Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Microbiology, Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Candidates with relevant academic background suitable for a microbiologist role are encouraged to apply
Key Responsibilities for Microbiologist Role:
- Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products for release
- Conduct and document environmental monitoring of facilities and water systems
- Maintain environmental monitoring trend data and identify trends
- Support investigations related to nonconformance and environmental monitoring excursions
- Perform LAL testing, water analysis, growth promotion, gram staining, and microorganism identification
- Maintain GMP/GLP documentation as per SOP guidelines
- Ensure laboratory cleanliness and maintenance of microbiology instruments
- Assist in SOP writing, review of test data, and deviation reporting
- Train team members in microbiology and chemistry laboratories
- Handle and dispose of biohazard materials in compliance with OSHA standards
Skills Required for Microbiologist Role:
- Strong knowledge of microbiology techniques such as gram staining, isolation plating, and media preparation
- Hands-on experience with autoclaves, air samplers, microscopes, and biohazard cabinets
- Understanding of cGMP regulations and pharmaceutical industry expectations
- Experience in environmental monitoring and laboratory investigations
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and documentation systems
- Attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs in a regulated environment
