Educational Requirements for the Production Supervisor Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, or a related field
- Relevant industry experience may be considered in place of a degree
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate production activities for the assigned shift in this Production Supervisor Role.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production aligned with plant objectives
- Manage labor allocation, scheduling, overtime, and PTO to balance production volume
- Train, coach, and motivate employees to achieve performance, safety, and quality goals
- Oversee compliance with GMP, OSHA, HACCP, and environmental regulations
- Direct operations including receiving, sampling, processing, packaging, and inventory control
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and process issues in collaboration with Maintenance and Engineering
- Conduct shift handovers and communicate production updates across teams
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, productivity, and reliability in this Production Supervisor Role.
- Maintain accurate documentation for quality, safety, and production performance
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities
Skills Required:
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Understanding of dairy or food manufacturing processes
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- As a Production Supervisor, you should have strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Capability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
