Educational Requirements for the Food Science Specialist Role:
- Science-based degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline
- HACCP Level 4 and Food Safety Level 4 (desirable but not essential)
Key Responsibilities:
- As a Food Science Specialist, you should act as the scientific expert across microbiological, chemical, and physical food properties
- Develop, deploy, and govern science-based technical standards and specifications
- Lead spoilage prevention, mould control, and pathogen reduction initiatives in the QA Jobs.
- Support root cause analysis for quality incidents and crisis management
- In the QA Job, you should drive continuous improvement in laboratory quality systems and technologies
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Group Quality, and external laboratories
- Coach and develop laboratory and site teams to enhance quality capability in the Food Science Specialist Role
Skills Required for the Food Science Specialist Role:
- Strong experience in food manufacturing, ideally in FMCG or dairy
- Microbiology-focused technical expertise
- Structured and analytical problem-solving approach
- Ability to challenge existing processes constructively
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong leadership and coaching capabilities
