Educational Requirements:
- Completion of college courses in a scientific discipline
- HACCP Certification or the ability to obtain certification
- Preventive Controls Qualified Individual Training
Key Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Supervisor:
- Lead FDA regulatory compliance, FDA & State inspections, and Safe Quality Foods programs
- Develop and manage HACCP programs and Food Safety & Quality Plans
- Ensure compliance with FSMA, GMP, GFSI, and Hershey’s Product Excellence Program
- Perform HACCP monitoring, quality inspections, and audits
- Review records, COAs, incoming raw materials, and finished product inspections
- Oversee lab equipment calibration and environmental testing
- Lead incident management, root cause analysis, CAPA development
- Communicate effectively with operations and quality teams
- Oversee QA technicians and manage schedules
- Train new technicians on best laboratory practices
- Participate in sanitation processes and special projects
- Identify improvement opportunities in the Food Safety & Quality Management System
Skills Required:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of mathematical principles and numerical data interpretation
- Objective evaluation of data and processes
- Effective operation of test equipment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with operations teams
- Ability to focus on process-based corrective actions
