Key Responsibilities
- Work 8-hour shifts within a 24-hour production environment; flexible to all required shifts.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and QA SOPs.
- Sample and test ingredients, in-process materials, and finished products for specification compliance.
- Perform microbiological sampling, plating, and result interpretation for water, ingredients, and products.
- Prepare, package, and ship samples as needed.
- Calculate and recommend batch adjustments.
- Clean, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Monitor process parameters and report issues promptly to leadership.
- Prepare accurate and complete analytical data.
- Prepare standard solutions for wet chemistry testing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant lab environment.
- Identify and resolve issues collaboratively with QC and Production teams.
- Apply knowledge of juice production, GMP, WHMIS, sanitation, and chemical safety.
- Utilize SAP for QA-related tasks.
- Identify and manage non-conforming materials.
- Work professionally, safely, and in compliance with workplace standards.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Education Requirements for Quality Control Job
- Two-year college diploma in life sciences or laboratory science OR
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology, food science, or related field.
Experience Requirements
Prior laboratory experience (academic or work-related).
Functional Skills
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry, microbiology, mathematics, and computer applications (Microsoft Office).
- Ability to cross-train in additional plant functions.
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, interpret manuals, and complete documentation.
- Ability to lift 20–50 lbs safely.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in refrigerated/freezer environments.
- Strong safety, attendance, and performance record.
- Ability to pass the Qualification Certification Process (QCP), including written, verbal, and hands-on assessments.
