Quality Control Job Position Summary

The QC Analytical Analyst is responsible for the timely execution of lot release, stability, and non-routine testing of pharmaceutical drug substances and drug products in compliance with cGMP guidelines. Working under minimal supervision, the Analyst independently performs mastered assays, executes advanced testing across multiple products, and documents all activities accurately. The role requires strong analytical judgment, the ability to recognize procedural deviations, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

The Analyst is expected to demonstrate strong cGMP and compliance expertise, serve as a subject matter expert during regulatory inspections, and contribute to the training and development of other laboratory staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs biochemical, physical, and chemical analyses of test samples under cGMP conditions to meet defined timelines
  • Independently executes assays in which proficiency has been demonstrated
  • Develops and maintains expertise across a broad range of analytical test methods
  • Applies technical understanding to troubleshooting and laboratory investigations
  • Evaluates analytical data against established criteria and specifications
  • Applies knowledge effectively in non-routine and complex situations
  • Identifies issues, analyzes problems, and makes sound, data-driven decisions
  • Assists with procedure revisions, method and equipment validation, and method transfers
  • Mentors and trains new hires and junior analysts
  • Ensures adherence to departmental and company policies
  • Promotes a strong culture of safety and quality

Required Experience & Skills

  • 1–2+ years of experience in a cGMP or GLP laboratory environment
  • 1–2+ years of hands-on experience with separation sciences (HPLC, UPLC, CE)
  • Ability to follow written procedures with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through prior work experience
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in team-based settings

Qualifications for Quality Control Jobs

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a scientific discipline such as Biology, or Biochemistry
  • 1–2+ years of Quality Control laboratory experience
  • Additional hands-on experience with separation sciences (HPLC, UPLC, CE)
