Educational Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in Food Science & Technology, Biology, or related discipline
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience may be considered
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical field such as food science, chemistry, engineering, or a related manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities:
- In this Quality Control Technician Role, you have to inspect and monitor daily quality and food safety activities
- Communicate quality expectations clearly to production teams
- Monitor and enforce GMP, hygiene, and sanitation compliance
- Conduct start-up, in-process, and pre-operation inspections
- Verify correct product, formulation, ingredient lot numbers, and code dates
- Perform metal detector and X-ray monitoring throughout production shifts
- Conduct sensory evaluations of raw materials and finished products
- Calibrate scales and laboratory equipment
- Perform sanitation verification swabs (ATP, allergen) and environmental monitoring
- Prepare daily production samples for laboratory analysis
- Support physical, chemical, and microbiological testing in this Quality Control Technician Role.
- Complete and follow up on non-conformance reports
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, SSOP, hold & release, and deviation procedures
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and sanitation teams to resolve issues
- Participate in 6S and continuous improvement projects
- Create and maintain POKA guides within the quality department
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Skills Required:
- The Quality Control Jobs require a strong knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, GMP, SSOP)
- Familiarity with GFSI, BRC, SQF, or similar food safety standards (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools (iPad, OneNote, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret weights, measurements, and calculations
- Excellent manual dexterity and observational skills
- Strong teamwork, mentoring, and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Willingness to work extended hours, overtime, and weekends
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
