About the Laboratory

The Vasudevan Lab, relocating to the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS) in September 2025, conducts cutting-edge research on post-transcriptional regulation in refractory cancers and the development of RNA therapeutics. The lab collaborates closely with academic institutions, clinical groups, and industry partners, integrating RNA mechanistic studies with AI-driven and therapeutic platforms to target cancer and other diseases.

Position Overview

The laboratory is seeking motivated and skilled Research Officers to support ongoing research in cancer biology, RNA regulation, and translational science. The successful candidates will work closely with the Principal Investigator, internal team members, and external collaborators to perform RNA profiling, assay development, and molecular and cellular studies, while supporting daily laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform molecular and cellular biology experiments related to RNA regulation and cancer biology.
  • Conduct RNA profiling studies, including RNA extraction and RNA sequencing.
  • Develop, optimize, and execute new experimental assays.
  • Perform cell culture work, including immune cells, primary cells, patient-derived samples, organoids, or in vivo models.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners on RNA and cancer research projects.
  • Maintain accurate experimental records and manage research data.
  • Support day-to-day laboratory operations and research activities.

Key Requirements For Research Jobs

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Genomics, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with cell and molecular biology techniques, including:
    • Cell culture
    • RNA extraction
    • RNA sequencing
  • Experience working with immune cells is highly preferred.
  • Experience with primary cells, patient samples, organoids, or in vivo models is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment.
