Educational Requirements for the Scientist Role:
- Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field
- 0–5 years of relevant industry or research experience
Key Responsibilities:
- As a drug development Scientist, you should design and execute phase-appropriate formulation, drug product process development, and stability studies.
- Implement pharmaceutical product development strategies and conduct formulation and process experiments.
- Represent Drug Product Development in cross-functional Process & Product Design teams.
- At Evotec Careers, you must collaborate with external CMOs for outsourced pharmaceutical manufacturing activities in this Scientist Job.
- Develop strategies to reduce risk for FIH, NIF, and commercial formulations.
- Optimize development approaches for biosimilar formulations, addressing intellectual property considerations.
- Act as a technical expert for formulation, stability, and container closure systems
- Support Quality, Manufacturing, Process Design, and external partners as a subject matter expert
- Ensure product quality, robustness, and regulatory compliance throughout development.
Skills Required for the Scientist Role:
- Strong expertise in biologics, protein, and peptide formulation (mandatory)
- Hands-on experience with analytical techniques: HPLC/UPLC, CE, IEF, DLS, DSC, sub-visible particle analysis
- Knowledge of DoE tools (JMP, MODDE) and statistical analysis
- Deep understanding of protein degradation and stabilization mechanisms
- Experience with sterile injectable dosage forms (liquid, frozen, vials, pre-filled syringes, autoinjectors)
- Knowledge of FDA and EMA regulatory guidance for biologics and biosimilars is a skill required of the Scientist working in the drug development process.
- Familiarity with USP and Ph. Eur. standards for biologics
- Excellent communication skills in English; French proficiency is an advantage.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
