Job Details:
- Position: Associate Scientist – Automation (2nd Shift)
- Location: Richmond, VA, United States
- Job Type: Full-Time, Fully Onsite
- Department: Automation – Immunochemistry
- Work Schedule: Second Shift (Afternoons)
- Environmental Conditions: Laboratory setting with PPE, exposure to biological products, lifting up to 40 lbs, loud equipment, adherence to GMP safety standards
- Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; must pass a background check, including drug screening
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in laboratory sciences such as biology, biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, or a related field
Key Responsibilities for Associate Scientist Role:
- Perform complex sample preparation and analysis using automated laboratory robotics (GYROS, Hamilton, TECAN)
- Collaborate with multiple functional groups to achieve business objectives
- Set up, maintain, and operate analytical instrumentation
- Train and assist team members in lab operations
- Ensure QA findings are addressed appropriately
- Review, interpret, and analyze data in compliance with SOPs, GMP, and GLP standards
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and notebooks
Skills Required for Associate Scientist Role:
- 1+ years of laboratory experience or equivalent combination of education and training
- Proficiency in immunoassays, ELISA, and other analytical techniques
- Manual dexterity for pipetting and operating lab equipment
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and ability to work independently under supervision
- Computer literacy and familiarity with data acquisition programs
- Positive attitude with strong attention to quality and detail
