Educational Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field, or equivalent military training
  • Two years of experience in Metrology, Instrumentation, or Calibration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Quality System/Pharmaceutical experience preferred

Key Responsibilities for Calibration Technician Role:

  • Perform calibrations, qualifications, and preventive maintenance (PMs) with accurate GxP documentation
  • Conduct flow, conductivity, pH, mass, and dimensional calibrations under guidance
  • Support team and clients, building trust through integrity, accountability, and teamwork
  • Identify potential business opportunities at client sites and relay to leadership
  • Maintain proper handling of PCI and client equipment, including standards and testing equipment
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs, mainly executing scheduled calibrations
  • Ensure workplace safety and educate peers on safety practices

Skills Required for Calibration Technician Role: 

  • Expanded knowledge of traceability, substitution of standards, and test accuracy ratios
  • Understanding of calibration concepts, accuracy testing, and requirements
  • Ability to make independent decisions within a defined scope of work
  • Basic understanding of GMPs and life sciences industry regulations
  • Knowledge of instrument, equipment, and loop calibrations in manufacturing, utilities, and laboratory environments
  • Self-driven and capable of working with minimal direction
