Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and non-routine microbiology quality testing following Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and local procedures in this Microbiology Job at GSK Careers.
- Record, analyze, and report microbiological results to support batch release decisions.
- Support investigations for out-of-specification (OOS) or deviation results in microbiological testing in this Microbiology Job in the UK.
- Contribute to laboratory improvement projects and implement GPS principles such as Process Performance Management, Problem Solving, and 5S.
- Train and coach colleagues on routine testing procedures and laboratory safety practices.
- Work closely with production, quality, and technical teams to resolve quality-related issues in this Microbiology Job in the UK.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring laboratories and systems remain audit-ready.
Educational Requirements for this Job:
- BSc (Hons) in Microbiology, Applied Biosciences, or a related scientific discipline.
- Alternatively, an accredited laboratory vocational qualification in a relevant scientific field.
- Practical experience with aseptic techniques and regulated laboratory environments.
Skills Required:
- Practical laboratory skills in microbiology testing.
- Experience working with laboratory instrumentation and troubleshooting basic issues.
- Knowledge of laboratory documentation systems and IT tools such as LIFT, SAP, or VQD.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Experience or knowledge in pharmaceutical microbiology and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Core microbiology techniques, including microbial limit testing, filtration techniques, sterility testing, and endotoxin testing.
- Ability to support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with strong problem-solving abilities.
