The Biotechnology Internship Opportunity
This internship is based in Basel within the medicines business (EPD).
The Advanced Studies Intern will be a highly motivated Master’s-level student with an interest in biotechnology, market launches, quality systems, and operational scalability. The role is situated within the Biosimilars Quality organization and offers the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that enhance global patient access.
The intern will work at the intersection of science, digital innovation, and quality excellence while collaborating with experts involved in biosimilar development. The position includes ownership of high-visibility projects that strengthen the Quality framework across multiple biosimilar assets, regions, and functions, providing exposure to senior leadership and a complex international environment.
Key Responsibilities (What You Will Work On)
- Build a digital database for Innovation & Development, capturing QA-relevant project data and lead assignments.
- Support the transition and maintenance of the Quality System, ensuring compliance and documentation readiness.
- Define and implement a standardized Change Control (CC) process for MBX and other biosimilars, including development of a Quality SharePoint and work instructions.
- Design a scalable digital workflow for requesting and tracking GMP and registration documentation for biosimilar submissions.
- Create a country-specific Quality requirements database covering testing, transport validation, notifications, and QA obligations.
- Perform stability data checks, identify gaps across markets, coordinate remediation activities, and ensure proper archival of data packages.
Candidate Profile (What You Bring)
- Master’s student in Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Bioengineering, Quality Management, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Strong analytical mindset with interest in Quality systems, regulatory pathways, and biosimilar development.
