Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology, clinical sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Key Responsibilities for Clinical Research Coordinator Role:
- Assist with initiation, implementation, and management of clinical studies
- Recruit and consent study participants
- Collect, enter, and maintain accurate research data
- Submit protocol applications and amendments to local IRB
- Acquire, process, and store biological samples
- Support molecular biology procedures as needed
- Maintain complete and organized research files
- Work collaboratively with the clinical and research teams
Skills Required for Clinical Research Coordinator Role:
- Knowledge of clinical research protocols, standards, and procedures
- Ability to interpret medical charts and abstract data
- Laboratory skills: blood sample preparation, centrifugation, pipetting, biosafety cabinet use
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, database management, and email communication
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
- Knowledge of Human Subjects Protection requirements
