Position Summary
The Chemistry Technician Intern supports laboratory operations at NQAC Dublin by performing routine and semi-complex analytical testing with minimal supervision. This role contributes to ensuring Nestlé products meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements through accurate sample processing, testing, and documentation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Register and prepare samples for analytical testing (data entry, weighing, homogenization)
- Perform routine to complex analyses following NQAC methods and SOPs
- Read, record, and verify analytical results
- Operate laboratory equipment (balances, pH meters, and related instruments)
- Support laboratory quality systems and internal control plans
- Document QA data and report findings to leadership
- Maintain laboratory equipment and request repairs as needed
- Participate in Lean Laboratory initiatives
- Assist with process and method review, improvement, and documentation
Training for Food Science Internship
Participate in assigned internal and external training programs
Education & Experience Requirements
- Relevant coursework or 1 year of analytical laboratory experience preferred
- Majors preferred: Biochemistry and Food Science
- Rising juniors or seniors preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Basic English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to follow laboratory SOPs and perform trained tasks
- Strong professionalism and teamwork skills
- Ability to learn new tasks efficiently
