Educational Requirements for the Food Safety Intern Role:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Biology, Agriculture, Or a related field
- Sophomore standing or higher required
Key Responsibilities of the Food Science Internship:
- Learn core operations of a poultry processing facility, including GMPs, HACCP, and USDA regulations
- Support daily FSQA activities within food operations
- Review, catalog, and organize FSQA documentation across multiple processing locations
- As a Food Safety Intern, you have to assist with document control, version tracking, and controlled distribution
- Conduct internal reviews of FSQA forms and procedures
- Identify inconsistencies in format, sampling frequency, and documentation practices
- Develop standardized templates for FSQA quality and verification forms in this Food Science Internship.
- Support digital document management using SharePoint and SafetyChain (eQMS)
- Participate in food safety and quality improvement projects
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager
