Your Opportunity

This role is ideal for individuals with a scientific background who are looking to begin or advance their career in the food industry. The Quality Operator will perform a range of analytical tasks focused on the analysis of food products and ingredients.

You will work as part of a laboratory team in a NATA-accredited environment, with flexibility required to support other laboratory areas and work additional shift hours when needed.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing analytical testing and reporting accurate results
  • Conducting sampling activities as required
  • Validating and calibrating laboratory analysis equipment
  • Supporting investigations of out-of-specification (OOS) results
  • Assisting with sensory evaluation panels
  • Coordinating the sending of inter-laboratory samples
  • Providing relief support across other laboratory areas, including:
    • Sensory testing
    • Raw materials analysis
    • Pathogen and microbiological testing
  • Contributing to laboratory continuous improvement initiatives

What Will Make You Successful In Food Science Jobs

To be successful in this role, candidates should demonstrate:

  • A degree in Food Science or a related scientific discipline
  • (Candidates currently completing their studies or holding a diploma are also encouraged to apply)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • (Experience with SAP is highly regarded)
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks
