Your Opportunity
This role is ideal for individuals with a scientific background who are looking to begin or advance their career in the food industry. The Quality Operator will perform a range of analytical tasks focused on the analysis of food products and ingredients.
You will work as part of a laboratory team in a NATA-accredited environment, with flexibility required to support other laboratory areas and work additional shift hours when needed.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing analytical testing and reporting accurate results
- Conducting sampling activities as required
- Validating and calibrating laboratory analysis equipment
- Supporting investigations of out-of-specification (OOS) results
- Assisting with sensory evaluation panels
- Coordinating the sending of inter-laboratory samples
- Providing relief support across other laboratory areas, including:
- Sensory testing
- Raw materials analysis
- Pathogen and microbiological testing
- Contributing to laboratory continuous improvement initiatives
What Will Make You Successful In Food Science Jobs
To be successful in this role, candidates should demonstrate:
- A degree in Food Science or a related scientific discipline
- (Candidates currently completing their studies or holding a diploma are also encouraged to apply)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in computer applications
