Educational Requirements for the Sensory Specialist Role:

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or College Diploma in Food Science, Sensory Science, or a related discipline
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate sensory research activities, including logistics with external courier services and consumer database management in the Food Science Jobs at Bimbo Careers.
- Lead product cuttings and deliver detailed sensory profiling to project teams
- Design sensory questionnaires in collaboration with the Sensory Lead, Marketing, and R&D teams
- Record, manage, and analyze sensory data using appropriate statistical tools
- Prepare clear, actionable sensory research reports with recommendations for R&D, Marketing, and Quality Assurance in this Sensory Specialist Role.
- Identify and implement innovative sensory research methodologies to enhance program effectiveness
- Manage and monitor the sensory research budget, driving efficiency and cost optimization
- Collaborate with external sensory partners to conduct 60/40 testing in alignment with Global Sensory protocols
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and supervision of co-op students as required
Skills & Experience Required for the Sensory Specialist Role:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sensory science or consumer research roles
- Strong analytical and statistical skills; experience with statistical software is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Compusense and/or XLStat is advantageous
- Ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and recommend solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate and present insights to cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel as required; valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required
- Comfortable sampling a wide range of food products
- Demonstrated passion for sensory science and continuous professional development
