The Role
As an International Regulatory Specialist, you will be part of Grenade’s Product Team, supporting regulatory compliance for products across North America from development through launch. This role offers strong professional development opportunities within a fast-growing, collaborative environment.
You will work closely with R&D, Product Management, Marketing, Quality, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in the U.S. and Canada.
Key Responsibilities of Food Science Jobs
- Review and approve product recipes, formulations, and specifications in collaboration with R&D and Product Managers
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, CFIA, Health Canada, and relevant databases (e.g., NHPID)
- Maintain and update product specifications and label reports
- Own product label compliance (primary, secondary, tertiary) for the U.S. and Canada
- Support artwork content review and approval for North America
- Assess and validate nutritional, health, and functional claims
- Manage nutrition testing programs and assess results for compliance
- Review marketing and promotional materials for regulatory adherence
- Monitor changes in U.S. and Canadian food regulations and advise on risks
- Support regulatory documentation, registrations, and licensing for market entry and export
- Assist in developing regulatory training materials
Qualifications & Experience
Preferred Education: Degree in Food Science, Food Chemistry, or related field (desirable)
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in North American food law and food supplement regulations
- Strong background in product compliance, labeling, and claims review
- Experience reviewing recipes, specifications, and formulations for NA markets
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of English and Canadian French is an asset
