Educational Requirements for the Food Safety Technologist Role:
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related scientific field
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing, working in Quality, Food Safety, Product or Process Development
Key Responsibilities of the Food Safety Technologist:
- Manage and continuously improve Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) programs
- Support Operations in troubleshooting consumer complaints and quality incidents
- Lead workstreams to resolve product release concerns
- Analyze quality data, KPIs, and complaint trends to drive improvement actions
- Food Safety Technologist must actively participate in the Food Safety Management / HACCP Team
- Serve as Glass and Hard Plastics Site Lead
- Own Hold & Release processes, including traceability activities
- Act as PRIMP (Product Risk Incident Management Process) owner
- Lead consumer complaint investigations
- Own assigned Q&FS standards, conduct gap analyses, build compliance roadmaps, and report progress
- Conduct and manage GMP inspections and internal audits
- Support site and global Q&FS data reporting
- Represent Q&FS in new product and process implementation projects
- Partner with cross-functional teams to embed food safety and quality from concept to execution
Skills Required:
- The Food Safety Technologist must have strong knowledge of Food Safety, GMP, GHP, HACCP, and FSSC 22000
- Experience in food manufacturing quality systems
- Data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead investigations and corrective actions
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
