Educational Requirements for the Regulatory Specialist ANZ Role:

Degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science or a related technical discipline
Key Responsibilities of the Regulatory Specialist ANZ:
- Act as an in-house expert on food legislation and regulatory guidelines for Australia and New Zealand
- Review product ingredients, formulations, and labels to ensure regulatory compliance
- Support new product development, reformulation projects, and marketing claims
- Monitor and interpret legislative changes impacting food composition and labelling
- Develop and maintain procedures for product formula and label approval
- Promote and sponsor regulatory compliance training initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities when required
- Communicate industry best practices and provide regulatory recommendations
- Ensure business continuity through proactive regulatory compliance activities
Skills Required for the Regulatory Specialist Role:
- 1–3 years of experience in regulatory affairs within the food manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of food composition, labelling, and marketing claim substantiation
- Understanding of food safety standards, including microbiological and contaminant controls
- Ability to influence and lead cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence in resolving complex regulatory issues
- Ability to set standards and ensure accountability
