Educational Requirements Summer Intern role:
- Must be currently pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
- Required majors include drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline
Key Responsibilities for Summer Intern role:
- Collate literature and internal data related to demographics and biomarkers for the lupus population
- Build virtual lupus populations for PBPK simulations
- Summarize literature data on pharmacokinetics differences between lupus patients and healthy subjects
- Simulate drug pharmacokinetics using PBPK models and compare results with clinical observations
- Present research findings to both expert and general scientific audiences
Skills Required for Summer Intern role:
- Strong understanding of pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism principles
- Knowledge of how physiological and pathological factors impact drug disposition
- Excellent literature research and meta-analysis skills
- Experience with Simcyp or other PBPK software is preferred
- Good communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
