Educational Requirements for the Lab Technician Role:
- Associate degree in Biological Sciences or a closely related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant laboratory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Key Responsibilities of the Lab Technician:
- Provide general laboratory support including ordering, receiving, and inventory management
- Process samples from animal, human, and arthropod sources
- Perform molecular biology techniques such as RNA/DNA isolation, PCR, and pathogen sequencing (training provided)
- Support viral infection analysis and immunology-related research projects
- Assist lab members with experimental workflows and daily operations
- Maintain detailed records and ensure laboratory organization and compliance
- Communicate effectively within a fast-paced, team-based research environment
- Handle sensitive and confidential data with discretion
Skills Required for the Lab Technician Role:
- Hands-on experience with wet-lab techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in research teams
- Experience handling clinical or infectious samples (preferred)
