Educational Requirements:
- Required: A-Level/BTEC in a relevant scientific field
- Preferred: BSc in Biotechnology or related scientific discipline
Key Responsibilities for Laboratory Technician Role:
- Routine laboratory maintenance and housekeeping
- Stock management and equipment calibrations
- Raising EWRP notifications when needed
- Maintaining consumables stock (autoclaving support)
- Media and buffer preparation
- Processing stock deliveries and arranging departmental shipments
- Supporting 6S implementation in R&D labs
- Assisting R&D team members as needed
- Cell culture work for research projects
- Bioreactor setup and tear down (lab scale and Ambr250)
Skills Required for Laboratory Technician Role:
- Proficiency in cell culture and buffer/media prep
- Stock inventory management and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a high-paced environment
- Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
