Educational Requirements for Laboratory Technician Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biology, or related life sciences preferred
- Laboratory experience preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Key Responsibilities for Laboratory Technician Role:
- Perform DNA extraction, sample preparation, and quality analysis prior to genotyping
- Execute platform-specific workflows and support high-throughput data generation
- Operate and maintain electronic and robotic laboratory equipment
- Maintain accurate records, including LIMS entries, lab notebooks, and sample archives
- Assist in training new technicians, assistants, and interns
- Follow SOPs, ISO procedures, and safety protocols consistently
- Provide input on laboratory process improvements and maintain inventory of supplies
Skills Required for Laboratory Technician Role:
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques (PCR, genotyping, DNA extraction)
- Ability to operate automated liquid handling systems and robotic platforms
