Educational Requirements for the Manufacturing Scientist Role:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or HES degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related fields)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technology transfer projects to establish compliant and robust manufacturing processes as a Manufacturing Scientist.
- Own and maintain deep knowledge of manufacturing processes throughout the product lifecycle
- Author, review, and approve technical documentation, including:
- Batch records
- SOPs
- Sampling plans
- Risk assessments
- Study protocols and technical reports
- Provide first-line technical support to manufacturing operations in compliance with quality and regulatory standards in this Manufacturing Scientist Role.
- Enhance process understanding by identifying sources of variability and root causes of product or process failures
- Manage change controls, risk assessments, deviations, investigations, impact analyses, and CAPAs
- Collaborate cross-functionally to implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Plan and conduct technical training for manufacturing personnel
Skills & Experience Required for the Life Science Jobs at Bio-Rad:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the diagnostics or pharmaceutical industry
- Strong expertise in biology, biochemistry, immunology, and automated manufacturing systems
- Proven experience in MSAT, technology transfer, or manufacturing process support
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills
- Structured, methodical, and detail-oriented working style
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Language Requirements:
- Native French or German
- Basic proficiency in the second language
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
