Educational Requirements for the Proposal Writer Role:
- PhD in a Life Science discipline (mandatory)
- Backgrounds in scientific writing, publishing, copy editing, or research are highly advantageous
Key Responsibilities of the Proposal Writer:
- Lead or support proposal planning meetings to define strategy and timelines
- Analyze RFPs and RFIs to identify client requirements and gaps
- Extract technical input from subject-matter experts and convert it into clear, compelling proposal narratives
- Develop proposal content aligned with scientific, operational, and financial strategies
- Integrate data visualizations and structured content into proposal documents
- Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and accountability across internal stakeholders
- Draft proposal sections in compliance with sponsor requirements and tight deadlines
- Collate clarification questions and follow-up requests for sponsors
- Perform quality control, peer review, and final document preparation
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the proposal development process
