Educational Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in Life Science
  • Background in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry

Key Responsibilities for Molecular Technologist role:

  • Perform mini, midi, maxi, and giga plasmid preparations
  • Transform, pick, and culture E. coli colonies
  • Prepare glycerol stocks and plasmids for sequencing
  • Quantify DNA using optical density methods
  • Identify and troubleshoot production issues
  • Maintain accurate records and status logs
  • Prepare media, reagents, and laboratory supplies
  • Execute protocols under ISO 13485 standards
  • Clean, autoclave labware, and prepare products for shipping
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production goals

Skills Required for Molecular Technologist role:

  • Basic understanding of molecular biology techniques
  • Experience with plasmid DNA preparation and sequencing
  • Attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
  • Ability to work in a high-throughput laboratory environment
