Educational Requirements for Microbiologist role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field
- OR 4 years of closely related experience
- Must meet CLIA education requirements for high complexity testing labs
Key Responsibilities for Microbiologist role:
- Process specimens for laboratory analysis
- Perform molecular and serology assays for infectious diseases
- Conduct necropsies for Rabies testing
- Test validation and quality control evaluations
- Draft, write, and update SOPs and grants
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
- Communicate results with Epidemiologists and local partners
- Interpret and apply DHHS policies, procedures, and regulations
Skills Required for Microbiologist role:
- PCR and immunoassay experience
- Knowledge of Molecular Biology and Medical Microbiology
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Experience in clinical or research laboratories
- Ability to follow CLIA standards and high-complexity testing protocols
