The Molecular Biology Job Opportunity

The Biological Researcher II position within the Bioassay Department of Biologics CMC is responsible for method development, troubleshooting, routine sample testing, and method qualification of PCR- and ELISA-based assays. This role supports both clinical and commercial programs and offers opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to regulatory submissions, and execute a wide variety of assays. The position reports to an Associate Director within the Bioassay Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine sample testing and analysis of biologic products using quantitative PCR and ELISA-based methods
  • Develop, qualify, transfer, and troubleshoot PCR and ELISA assays for internal and external GxP laboratories
  • Author and review SOPs, protocols, laboratory notebook entries, and technical reports
  • Manage and maintain laboratory supplies and critical reagents, including ordering, inventory, and characterization
  • Participate in project meetings, providing updates and technical insights to cross-functional teams
  • Present data at internal and external meetings as required

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant industry experience

Required Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on experience with quantitative PCR and ELISA-based assays following current industry standards, particularly for monoclonal antibody testing
  • Experience generating, qualifying, and characterizing critical bioassay reagents
  • Familiarity with method standardization and optimization for GMP use
  • Knowledge of biosimilar and novel biologics product lifecycles and associated regulatory requirements
  • Experience working within controlled document systems
