POSITION SUMMARY:

The Factory Quality Manager is the driver and guardian of food safety and compliance and the challenger of all functions in Nestlesโ Fremont, MI factory. They will manage Quality Assurance department budgets, support end-to-end food safety and product quality-related activities (Procurement & Supply Chain).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
โข People and Know-how: Develop and maintain competencies, quality awareness, and commitment to zero defects in the factory through development/integration of training material, teaching, coaching and assessing.
โข Nestle Microbiology Job-Opening Quality Systems: Setup, manage, enforce, and maintain the Nestlรฉ Quality Management System as well as establishing the Operating Quality Manual.
โข General Laboratory methods and practices: Ensure the correct functioning of the factory laboratory, including personnel safety, availability of equipment, ensure appropriate methods and/or method verification, and training of technicians.
โข Hygiene: Ensure adherence to good hygienic practices in the factory. Ensure the correct implementation and supervision of the factoryโ pest management program.
โข Quality auditing and verification: Manage the internal auditing program, assess the performance of the quality system, report its effectiveness to management, and propose actions for improvement.
โข Continuous improvement and root cause analysis: Ensure the monitoring of key quality parameters by means of statistical process control in order to drive structured root cause analysis and continuous improvement in the quest for zero defect. Be the management representative for Quality (MRQ).
โข Support continuous improvement by initiating or participating at the appropriate level in operational reviews, problem-solving activities, and implementation of TPM Pillars.

โข BS/BA degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or related degree with 3 yearsโ experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience in a food manufacturing facility.
โข Previous supervisory/people leader responsibilities highly preferred.
โข Experience in food processing and understanding of the agricultural market preferred
โข Management exposure across several functions
โข Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams
