About the Quality Assurance Job Role
Join Synlait as next Quality Assurance Manager at the Dunsandel site on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an opportunity to lead a committed Quality Operations team, collaborate with passionate colleagues across the business, and foster a strong culture of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations while developing and supporting your team to perform at their best.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily operations of the Quality Operations team
- Drive compliance with regulatory, customer, and audit requirements
- Manage and continuously improve food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, GMP, and SOPs
- Monitor product quality trends and lead corrective and preventive actions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues
- Lead audits, investigations, and critical food safety events
- Build and sustain a strong food safety culture through training, leadership, and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline
- Proven leadership experience in food manufacturing or dairy processing environments
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety/quality management systems
- Experience managing audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer standards
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence
