Educational Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Jobs:
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Public Health, or a related discipline
- HACCP certification (asset)
- GFSI-recognized scheme training (SQF or equivalent – asset)
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify that all inbound and outbound perishable products meet safety and quality specifications in the Quality Assurance Specialist Role.
- Conduct inspections using defined sampling and testing programs
- Investigate, document, and report quality findings using approved systems and forms
- In this Quality Assurance Specialist Role, you have to communicate daily with Quality Assurance, Merchandising, and Supply Chain teams
- Liaise with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) during inspections, detentions, and recovery programs
- Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Assurance program
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and PFG internal requirements
- Support the delivery of produce that meets the highest food safety and quality standards
Skills & Experience Required for the Quality Assurance Specialist Role:
- 3–5 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, auditing, compliance, or supply chain operations
- Strong understanding of produce quality and perishable food handling (asset)
- Working knowledge of food safety regulations and inspection processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-temperature warehouse environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to travel between British Columbia and Alberta as required
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and shift changes in a 24/7 operation
