Educational Requirements for the QA Scientist Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology or another Life Sciences discipline

Key Responsibilities of the QA Scientist:

  • Perform microbiological quality control testing of finished products, raw materials, and sera
  • Conduct testing according to approved procedures and compendia (USP, EP, ACS)
  • Perform environmental monitoring, bioburden analysis, endotoxin testing, and microbial limits testing
  • Carry out microbial identification and growth promotion testing of microbiological media and reagents
  • Evaluate test results against approved specifications and release QC data on time
  • Perform peer review of analytical data
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with GDP and quality guidelines
  • Communicate operational status and report deviations to supervisors
  • Support laboratory operations including equipment maintenance, reagent preparation, and waste disposal
  • Ensure laboratory cleanliness, safety compliance, and resolution of unsafe conditions

Skills Required for the QA Scientist Role:

  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Knowledge of quality control and site quality standards
  • Familiarity with microbiology laboratory instruments and production equipment
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures with minimal supervision
  • Basic problem-solving skills using fact-based information
