Position Components:
In this role, you will work with colleagues in the JNJ Innovative Medicine R&D Data Science & Digital Health organization and partner with key businesses across JNJ Innovative Medicine (formerly Janssen) to apply advanced data science and analytics to answer key research questions. As an intern, you will get the opportunity to work on cutting-edge problems at the intersection of AI and healthcare. You will be part of a dynamic team comprising data scientists and subject-matter experts to create and iterate on data science solutions.
Projects include, but are not limited to, the use of real-world data for modeling and predicting disease severity and progression, the discovery of disease subtypes, risk stratification, and precision medicine using traditional biostatistical methodologies and advanced methods from machine learning and/or deep learning. Interns could be based outside our US locations in San Diego, San Francisco, Titusville, Raritan, Spring House, and Boston, as well as remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Innovative Medicine R&D Data Science & Digital Health team in this Remote Bioinformatics Internship in Johnson & Johnson Careers
- Apply advanced data science and analytics to research questions
- Develop AI/ML models for disease prediction and progression
- Work on real-world healthcare data for risk stratification and precision medicine in this Internship in Switzerland
- Collaborate with data scientists and domain experts in this Remote Bioinformatics Internship
- Build and iterate data-driven solutions using machine learning and deep learning techniques
Educational Requirements for this Internship:
- Currently pursuing a PhD degree in Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Biomedical Informatics, or a related quantitative discipline
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of AI and Machine Learning
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch
- Expertise in predictive modeling and large dataset analysis
- Strong technical communication and presentation skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with wearable/sensor data analysis
- Knowledge of semi-supervised or self-supervised learning
- Experience with foundation models
