Educational Requirements:
- Intermediate Technician: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, or Medical Technology
- Associate Technician: High School diploma or Associate’s degree
- Experience: 1–2 years (Intermediate), 1 year (Associate) in laboratory or related research work
Key Responsibilities for Research Laboratory Tech Role:
- Maintain cell cultures and generate DNA constructs
- Perform flow cytometry and analyze protein interactions
- Conduct molecular and cellular assays in collaboration with the PI
- Assist with mouse colony breeding, genotyping, and procedures
- Process patient blood and samples for the division’s biobank
- Order and organize lab reagents
Skills Required for Research Laboratory Tech Role:
- Expertise in molecular biology techniques and cell culture
- Experience with mouse handling and laboratory experiments
- Excellent time management and meticulous record keeping
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel; familiarity with EndNote, Graphpad, and FlowJo
