Educational Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in biomedical science or related discipline
  • Experience handling human blood, tissue samples, and molecular biology techniques

Key Responsibilities of the Research Technician Role:

  • Extract high molecular weight DNA and RNA using advanced fat reduction protocols
  • Conduct Sanger sequencing and other genetic analyses
  • Maintain and analyze various cell lines and cell-based models
  • Collaborate with academics and clinicians on research publications and presentations
  • Contribute to international genomics studies in neuromuscular disease
