Educational Requirements for the Research Technician Role:

Independent research experience beyond academic coursework
Key Responsibilities of the Research Technician:
- Perform bench-level experiments to support investigative research
- Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents, cultures, stocks, and cell lines
- Execute and adapt documented protocols and laboratory assays
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and compile experimental data
- Interpret experimental results and prepare summaries and reports
- Perform basic statistical analysis and data verification
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Order laboratory supplies and manage inventory levels
- Supervise work-study students when required
- Support additional laboratory activities as assigned
Skills Required for the Research Technician Role:
- Strong foundation in basic laboratory techniques
- Attention to detail in data collection and documentation
- Ability to follow and modify experimental protocols
- Basic statistical analysis and scientific reporting skills
- Experience with molecular biology techniques (preferred)
- Cell culture handling and aseptic techniques (preferred)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a research team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
