Medical Scientist Position Overview
The Medical Laboratory Scientist Grade 1 role is a full-time fixed-term position within the Endocrine Laboratory at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. The position is available until 31 March 2028 and involves working 80 hours per fortnight, including ADO hours.
The role is based in Parkville, with convenient access to public transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pancreatic antibody analyses using immunoassays and molecular diagnostic methods.
- Undertake additional related duties as required.
Candidate Profile (About You)
- Holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biomedical Science, Laboratory Science, or a similar discipline.
- Possesses relevant laboratory experience in research or diagnostic settings, such as immunoassays and molecular diagnostics.
- Experience in a tertiary hospital or private laboratory is desirable.
- Demonstrates a commitment to customer-focused service.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
