Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, or a related field
- Hands-on experience conducting in vivo experiments
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and independently execute experiments in rodent models in this Scientist Job in the USA
- Conduct preclinical evaluation of targets/pathways regulating energy metabolism and food intake
- Perform small animal handling and dosing (p.o., i.v., i.m., s.c., i.p.)
- At Lilly Careers, you should conduct animal perfusion and tissue harvesting
- Perform metabolic profiling assays (insulin/glucose tolerance tests, body composition, indirect calorimetry)
- Conduct small rodent surgeries (mini-pump insertion, stereotactic brain injections)
- Perform molecular and biochemical assays (DNA/RNA isolation, qRT-PCR, western blot, ELISA, immunohistochemistry)
- Maintain accurate records, analyze data independently, and present findings in this Scientist Job
- Ensure compliance with Lilly Research Policies and required training
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in small animal handling and surgeries
- Knowledge of metabolic disease models
- Experience with molecular biology and biochemical assays
- Strong data analysis and documentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in diabetes and/or obesity research
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Flexibility in a dynamic research setting
