Role Summary
The Lab Specialist supports food safety and regulatory compliance by managing pesticide residue testing, maintaining EU/FDA compliance references, and ensuring accurate laboratory documentation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate pesticide residue testing for raw materials and finished products.
- Prepare and manage samples for internal and external accredited laboratories.
- Review and validate test results against specifications and customer requirements.
- Maintain regulatory and customer compliance references (EU MRLs, FDA, customer lists).
- Create and maintain pesticide and compliance trackers by product, lot, and customer.
- Support COAs, customer questionnaires, and technical documentation.
- Assist with investigations, CAPA, and trend analysis.
- Ensure audit-ready lab documentation and traceability.
- Collaborate with QA/QC, Procurement, and Production to reduce compliance risk.
Requirements for Biotechnology Jobs
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in a food lab or quality role
- Experience or familiarity with pesticide residue testing concepts (MRLs, LOQ/LOD)
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Excel; ERP/LIMS experience a plus
- Strong English reading and writing skills
