Introduction to the Role
Global Clinical Solutions (GCS) drives the delivery of services and technology for AstraZeneca’s internal and external stakeholders. The Specialist, Global Clinical Solutions delivers global, centralized services across drug projects and other activities that enable Clinical Development programs to be delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards across all delivery models.
The role ensures the population and availability of complete, high-quality data from clinical operations processes, procedures, and systems. The Specialist may deliver training on system procedures and processes and participate in life cycle management of processes, systems, tools, and associated documentation. All Specialists contribute to improvement projects and functional or regional initiatives as required.
Accountabilities
- Deliver Global Clinical Solutions services
- Set up and maintain systems, tools, and data associated with projects, services, and technology in partnership with study teams and external partners, ensuring quality, completeness, consistency, and adherence to standards
- Support life cycle management and business continuity for:
- Operational processes and procedures
- Systems and tools
- Standards and procedural documentation
- Training materials
- Provide support to user communities by:
- Conducting process, system, and tool training
- Facilitating knowledge sharing
- Establishing best practices
- Ensuring communication with relevant stakeholders across GCS and AstraZeneca
- Perform analysis of processes and tools to define business usage and identify efficiency and effectiveness improvements
- Support User Requirement Specifications (URS) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Contribute to business cases for continuous improvement initiatives
- Prioritize workload to meet personal and team objectives
- Participate in change initiatives
Essential Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a healthcare-related field
- 0+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or clinical study delivery/clinical development processes
- Proven time management, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask with a task-oriented approach
- Previous administrative training or experience
- Strong computer proficiency
- Ability to create and maintain efficient systems for self and others
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated AstraZeneca Values and Behaviors
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Solid understanding of the clinical study process
- Programming experience or programming aptitude
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical drug development, clinical study processes, and associated regulations, including ICH GCP
- Willingness and ability to train others on study support processes and procedures
- Ability to proactively identify risks, issues, and potential solutions
- GxP training
