Key Objectives / Deliverables

  • Design, lead, and conduct in vivo studies evaluating blood–brain barrier (BBB) penetration and efficacy of novel therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases
  • Manage studies from initiation through data delivery, including execution of core in vivo dosing techniques and tissue collection
  • Perform study-specific workflows focused on BBB characterization, including pharmacokinetic sampling, brain and plasma collection, and biodistribution analysis
  • Conduct rodent RNA isolations, RT-qPCR, and biochemical assays (ELISA, Western blotting, protein quantification) to assess target engagement and pharmacodynamic responses in brain tissue
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized experimental records, protocols, and sample inventories using electronic lab notebooks
  • Communicate study progress, BBB penetration data, and pharmacological findings to project leads and cross-functional teams
  • Ensure compliance with IACUC-approved animal protocols and uphold high standards of animal welfare and laboratory safety

Basic Requirements For Biologist Job in USA

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field
  • Experience:
    • 1–2 years of industry experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or
    • 0–1 years of industry experience with a Master’s degree
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Lilly will not provide sponsorship or support for work authorization or visas, including but not limited to F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1

Additional Skills / Preferences

  • Experience with biochemical assays (ELISA, Western blotting, protein quantification)
  • Experience with rodent RNA isolations and RT-qPCR
  • Hands-on experience in rodent handling, dosing, and tissue collection
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary research teams
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and record-keeping skills
  • Experience with CSF collection, ICV injections, or stereotaxic surgeries
  • Familiarity with blood–brain barrier permeability studies or CNS drug delivery approaches
  • Working knowledge of neurodegenerative disease models (e.g., Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS)
  • Background in drug discovery or preclinical development, particularly CNS therapeutics
  • Experience with pharmacokinetic or biodistribution studies in the CNS
  • Strong documentation, communication, and data presentation skills
