Position Overview
PAML, a Labcorp company, is seeking a Lab Assistant to support laboratory operations in Richland, Washington. The role involves handling clinical specimens, preparing samples for testing, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and sort clinical laboratory specimens
- Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
- Perform scanning and data entry of specimen and patient information
- Ensure laboratory equipment is functioning properly and perform minor maintenance as needed
- Troubleshoot specimen-related issues
- Replenish test bench supplies
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Complete record logs and administrative tasks as requested
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain safety and quality standards
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science field
- Six months or more of previous medical, production, or laboratory experience
Additional Life Science Job Requirements
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turnaround times
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
- Must pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime as required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Comfortable working with minimal supervision

Compensation
Pay Range: $18.15 – $25.32 per hour
Additional second shift differential. Compensation is based on skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and market data.
