Educational Requirements:
- PhD (completed or near completion) in developmental biology or a closely related field
- Equivalent postdoctoral-level research experience may be considered
- Strong academic background in embryology and developmental biology
Key Responsibilities of Research Associate Role:
- Conduct experiments on developing chick limbs to study skeletal patterning
- Perform experiments using an ex vivo chick wing tissue explant system
- Carry out RNA and ATAC sequencing experiments and data analysis
- Accurately analyse, record, and manage experimental data
- Prepare research plans, publications, and conference presentations
- Contribute to manuscripts, reports, and grant applications
- Mentor PhD students and support technical staff
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and ethical regulations
- Maintain professional development in developmental biology techniques
Skills Required for Research Associate Role:
- Practical experience in embryological techniques
- Strong theoretical knowledge of developmental biology
- Experience with confocal and/or light-sheet microscopy (desirable)
- Knowledge of HCR in situ hybridisation and immunostaining (desirable)
- Experience in RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and bioinformatics (desirable)
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong data management and problem-solving abilities
