Metagenomi Bioinformatics Summer Intern
We are looking for a talented Bioinformatics Summer Intern passionate about developing solutions to next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis problems in the field of gene editing. Join us in making a direct impact on the future of therapeutic tools!
The Opportunity:
- Optimize current NGS data processing and analysis pipelines to advance our gene editing systems.
- Explore AI tools or statistical methods to accelerate guide selection processes.
- Collaborate with Preclinical and Discovery teams to drive meaningful advancements.
How You’ll Contribute:
- Optimize existing NGS workflows and identify areas for algorithm improvements.
- Implement and test bioinformatics tools for enhanced data analysis.
- Prototype an AI solution or statistical method using our large in-house NGS datasets.
Must-Haves:
- Education: Actively pursuing a degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or related field.
- Experience in NGS data formats, Python, R, biological databases, machine learning, and cloud computing platforms.

- Duration: Eight-week internship
- Dates: June 24, 2024 – August 16, 2024
- Location: Onsite in Emeryville, California
- Hours: 9 am – 5 pm PST
