- Schedule: Friday–Tuesday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Pay Rate: $23.00/hour

Medical Laboratory Scientist Position Summary
The Medical Laboratory Scientist Trainee performs assigned analytical test procedures under the supervision of senior laboratory personnel in the Molecular Oncology laboratory, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assigned analytical tests according to SOPs and quality control requirements
- Support and comply with laboratory policies and procedures
- Maintain turnaround times for routine, STAT, and critical test results
- Ensure test systems remain in control for all procedures performed
- Notify supervisory personnel of any testing issues or deviations
- Report actual or potential deviations and assist in investigations
- Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, functional, and sanitary condition
- Complete training and competency assessments as required
- Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety regulations
- Properly use PPE, engineering controls, and work practice controls
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Education For Medical Laboratory Scientist
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science from an accredited institution
- U.S.-educated candidates must provide official transcripts
- Foreign-educated candidates must provide credential evaluation from NACES or AICE
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic theoretical and operational knowledge in assigned specialty
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Frequent lifting of 1–10 lbs; occasional lifting of 11–25 lbs
- Ability to stand and work at laboratory benches for extended periods
- Frequent walking and standing
- Manual dexterity required for pipetting and operation of laboratory instruments
