- Pay Range: $20 – $22 USD/hour
- Work Schedule:
- Sunday – Thursday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm ET
- Monday – Friday, 11:30 am – 8:00 pm ET
Summary
Supports administrative and patient counseling services. Facilitates communication between laboratory personnel, genetic counselors, and assistant staff. Ensures GeneDx maintains its reputation as a world-class healthcare company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients and providers with questions regarding counseling services.
- Complete patient intake and schedule genetic counseling appointments via phone or electronic requests.
- Manage incoming and outgoing documents, including referrals, medical records, counseling notes, pedigrees, insurance forms, and test requisitions.
- Support case management by coordinating with patients, providers, and laboratories.
- Obtain insurance information and assist with prior authorization requirements.
- Provide follow-up for case completion and assist genetic counseling staff with administrative duties.
- Maintain knowledge of systems used in counseling and laboratory testing.
- Identify complex cases requiring escalation to supervisors or genetic counselors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Who Should Apply for This Remote Job?
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferably in Biology or a related field).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior clinical or laboratory experience preferred but not required.
