Job Description

Qualifications
The Microbiology Analyst Job role requires:
- Minimum BS/BA in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, or equivalent.
- Microbiology degree preferred.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a cGMP/GLP laboratory.
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical & FDA/GMP industry preferred.
- Hands-on microbiology laboratory experience, including aseptic techniques.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of current cGMP regulations for laboratory settings.
- Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Strong written, verbal, and communication skills.
- Good documentation and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
The Microbiology Analyst Job role responsibilities include:
- Help maintain inventory by reporting needed supplies and reducing wastages in the Microbiology department.
- Perform monitoring of samples, in-process product samples, raw materials, and environmental monitoring (EM) samples.
- Successfully complete a gown qualification program to work in aseptic manufacturing areas.
- Perform critical manufacturing process interventions for viable and non-viable EM.
- Maintain daily sample logs for timely testing and tracking.
- Conduct routine sampling of critical process utilities such as Water-for-Injection, Purified Water, and compressed air systems.
- Count colony forming units (CFU) on Petri plates.
- Perform sterility testing on final products and raw materials.
- Carry out Growth Promotion and Biological Indicator testing.
- Prepare reagents, materials, and equipment in sterile environments like HEPA hoods.
- Maintain accurate test records and enter results into LIMS.
- Maintain instrument usage and calibration logs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Conduct lab investigations for OOS/OOL results and communicate findings.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and manage spare parts inventory.
- Support method transfer, validation, troubleshooting, and audits.
- Conduct statistical evaluations and train QC staff.
- Ensure laboratory documentation control and calibration of equipment.
