Educational Requirements for the R&D Scientist Role:
- PhD required in Life Sciences, Data Science, or a closely related field
- Minimum 2 years of post-doctoral or equivalent industry experience
- Demonstrated project leadership experience in data analysis or predictive modeling
Key Responsibilities of the R&D Scientist:
- Develop data analysis plans in collaboration with R&D stakeholders
- Execute, validate, and review advanced data analysis reports
- Apply parametric and non-parametric statistical methods and predictive modeling
- Identify opportunities to refine existing products and support new product development
- Review, clean, transform, and validate datasets to ensure consistency and quality
- Document code, experiments, and analyses using version-controlled systems
- Create tables, figures, and visualizations to support publications
- Ensure scientific accuracy, integrity, and reproducibility of results
- Mentor team members and provide scientific leadership
- Contribute to discussions on experimental design and data quality
Skills Required for the R&D Scientist Role:
- Advanced inferential statistics expertise
- Experience with machine learning and/or statistical modeling
- Strong scientific research and experimental design mindset
- Proficiency with command-line operations
- Efficient coding skills with strong understanding of data structures
- Experience with version control systems and documentation best practices
- Ability to lead projects and direct analytical workflows
